FAQ

FAQ

What locations do your current groups kayak/train at?

Tunks Park (Cammeray) – for kayaking, meet next to the boat ramp. For group fitness and Personal Training, we meet near the exercise equipment area on the main field.

Lavender Bay (North Sydney) – meet by the boat ramp at the bottom of the Lavender Bay stairs (the ones that lead down from the Harbourside Indian Restaurant on Lavender Street). This is just around the bay from Luna Park.

What sessions do you run?

Our sessions are usually about an hour long (some more, some less). They can include (but are not limited to), boxing, games, circuits, strength, resistance, team building, cardio, stair training, and of course our Kayak Netball and Social Kayaking sessions.

How many times a week do you recommend I train/kayak?

Following the Fitness Australia Exercise Guidelines, we recommend you train at least 2-3 times per week. This may vary slightly, depending on what other exercise you are doing and your lifestyle. This allows you to achieve the minimum healthy cardiovascular exercise needed, coupled with resistance and flexibility training for optimum results.

Our sessions teach you to warm up correctly, exercise with good posture to prevent injury, use equipment carefully with good technique, breath properly, recover well and most importantly… have fun!

What do I need to bring to training/kayaking with me?

Training: It is advisable to wear comfortable training clothes and bring drinking water, sun protection, a sweat towel and a yoga/stretch mat for floor work and stretching.

Kayaking: You are likely to get a little wet during the kayaking sessions, so wear something comfy, like boardies, a rashie and a change or clothes for after the paddle. Sun protection and water are also advisable.

What if I can’t attend a session?

In the event that you can’t attend a session that you have booked, you need to log-in and cancel the session online within 12 hours of the session, or you will forfeit that session. Spaces are limited, so if you can’t make it to a session, it’s only fair to give someone else the opportunity to train/kayak that day.

What if it is raining?

Generally, fitness and kayaking sessions will be cancelled in bad weather. We want you to enjoy your training with us. We therefore don’t expect you to train in wet, windy conditions.

Our kayaking Angels are trained to read wind, wave and tide forecasts. For your safety, if the weather looks inappropriate for kayaking, we will cancel in advance and reschedule for a later date.

If a session is to be cancelled, your Fitness Angel will call or text you in advance to let you know.

If you are planning on cancelling or rescheduling, you must cancel your session online, rather than just not turning up, or your session will be classed as a “no show” and you will forfeit that session.

How do I pay? Is there a booking fee?

All of Fitness Angels, Angels adventures and Kayak Netball Australia’s sessions are booked online. Visa, Mastercard and American Express are all excepted forms of payment, but do incur an initial set-up fee and booking fee for each transaction. Please note the following fees:
